Why Ethereum?
Ethereum today is the second most valuable cryptocurrency in the world. Around August 2017, daily transactions with ETH surpassed those of Bitcoin — today, it sees around three times as many.
Ethereum (ETH) was originally described in a 2013 white paper written by Vitalik Buterin, a programmer and co-founder of Bitcoin Magazine. Buterin saw the potential that Bitcoin’s trust-less infrastructure could have as a platform. He built Ethereum to allow developers to more easily write programmable, trust-less contracts (“smart contracts”) and therefore create a wider variety of decentralized applications (or dApps).
The most popular form of smart contract to date has ben the ICO, or Initial Coin Offering. In an ICO, participants trade a cryptocurrency (usually ETH) for the tokens of a new project that is raising funds. In 2017 alone, $5 billion was raised through these Initial Coin Offerings, cementing Ethereum as the engine of this new economy.
We’re excited to bring Ethereum to even more cryptocurrency traders, increase its liquidity, and overall help support ETH’s mission to grow the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
How to Trade Ethereum
